CLINICAL TIPS FOR BEST PRACTICES AND OUTCOMES
“PASSES AND PULSES”

Vivace® Microneedle RF is a safe and effective choice of treatment for skin rejuvenation, skin tightening and fine lines & wrinkles on the face. In order to achieve optimum results, multiple passes at different depths are recommended. This is called the 3D Precision Approach. This is a layered approach of delivering RF energy deep into the dermis, which creates multiple depth coagulation zones. In this technique, the first pass is performed at the “deepest and hottest” settings that the patient can tolerate AND the skin can tolerate.

A power level of 5, and RF Time of 500ms is a good starting point (however, patient skin type, tolerability and comfort level must be considered). Users can always adjust the power level or the RF time up or down for individualized needs. For new patients or when settings are changed, a test spot is recommended.

DEFINITIONS:

Pass: A pass is defined as ONE treatment pass of the entire face. It is recommended that one pass of the face should be completed before beginning a second pass of a previously treated area.

When performing each pass, a 50% overlap technique should be performed. This gives a uniform warming effect to the tissue, which helps to stimulate new collagen fibers to grow, leading to significant improvement to skin quality and texture.

Shot Count: (Also referred to as pulse count) Is the number of times the needles are deployed into the skin, delivering RF energy. This number can be tracked and located on the main Vivace® LED screen, above the STANDBY/READY tab.

Shot Counts can be used an indicator to assure the proper number of pulses are being delivered into the tissue, and the proper technique for delivery is being utilized. When performing a Vivace®, aim to deliver a MINIMUM of 400 pulses per pass. If you are below this number after your first pass, smaller “hops” in between pulses can help increase the total amount of energy shots delivered.

SMALL SIZED FACES – A minimum of 800 shots should be delivered by the end of the treatment

MEDIUM SIZED FACE – A minimum of 1000 shots should be delivered by the end of the treatment

LARGE SIZED FACE – A minimum of 1200 shots should be delivered by the end of the treatment
